The University of Michigan Solar Car Team designs and builds solar-powered vehicles that compete in prestigious races around the world. Their cutting-edge solar cars require precision, durability, and lightweight materials to maximize efficiency and performance. Coastal Enterprises proudly supports the team by supplying Precision Board HDU, a high-density urethane material perfect for both hand-carving and CNC-machining. Precision Board is integral to the team’s prototyping and model-making process, allowing for highly accurate designs that contribute to their innovative, sustainable vehicle solutions. Thanks to this valuable material, the team can focus on refining their solar-powered car models and pushing the boundaries of clean energy transportation.

Shocker Racing is a dedicated group of students focused on designing, manufacturing, and competing with high-performance open-wheel race cars. Coastal Enterprises has generously supported the team with donations of Precision Board HDU, a high-density foam that plays a crucial role in the fabrication of their vehicles. This versatile material allows for precise shaping and customization, enabling the team to craft lightweight, aerodynamic components essential for their race cars’ speed and efficiency. The Cal Poly Supermileage Vehicle Team competes in the Shell Eco-Marathon, where they design and build ultra-efficient vehicles to push the limits of fuel economy. This year, they proudly competed with their beautifully decorated green and gold vehicle, earning recognition for their award-winning data telemetry system. Coastal Enterprises supported the team by generously donating Precision Board HDU, a versatile material essential for constructing key components of their vehicle.
