UAV Project – Colorado State University

LARVA, or Local Area Reconnaissance Visual Assistant is a senior design engineering project undertaken by four highly motivated engineers from Colorado State University.

It is an ultra-small UAV being designed for use in cramped urban conditions, using a VTOL System (vertical take-off and landing). Using donated Precision Board Plus HDU, they were able to create carbon fiber molds for the body of the UAV. It will be capable of being transported and launched by a single soldier in virtually any environment. How cool!

You can view their website here:  http://www.helrot.com/larva, and also on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/larvauav.

Here is a picture of the Precision Board Plus HDU shipment arriving at Colorado State University. They look pretty happy…must be why they put on suits!
