Two Densities One Sign

Synergy Sign & Graphics LLC is at it again and we’ve got the inside track on how they continually have success no matter what project they are working on!

First and foremost, they take advantage of Precision Board’s wide selection of products. For this sign, they used our higher density PBLT-30 to machine extra durable crisp lettering while utilizing our easy to machine industry standard PBLT-15 for the core. Using our PB-Bond 240 urethane adhesive they are able to combine two densities for one amazing sign.

Secondly, they save time and money by using our special formulated texture coatings to easily create incredible looking signs. On this sign they achieved an impressive textured effect by using our TSF-45 texture surface finish. This single-component, high solids flexible coating is a great choice to get unique textures in exterior or interior applications.

The Texture Makes The Difference!

Make a world of difference to your sign with the addition of a little texture.

Carol Kaufman, owner of Watseka Sign’s, is a fan of both our PB Resin and TSF-45 textures, and uses them frequently on anything from signs to windmill blades to tail vanes.

Carol was nice enough to send us some pictures of her work, much of which is mounted on Alumalite, for all to see.

For those who may be unfamiliar, TSF-45 is an extremely tough, flexible coating that can provide interesting, protective textures to materials such as Precision Board, concrete, wood, steel, glass and galvanized metal. According to Carol,:

“The TSF-45 curing time allows for sculpting and shaping, and you can build up the shape by adding additional layers if needed. Because the TSF-45 is a soft paste, you can sculpt with anything on hand, and like the rooster you can stick objects into the paste and it will hold, as well as take any type of paint.”

PB Resin is a two-part clear epoxy resin that can be mixed with lettering enamels to quickly and easily create a high gloss, smooth texture, color finish. PB Resin offers a “hard raised dome effect” that can be tinted with enamel One Shot or gilded after curing. Unlike vinyl it will not peel, curl or crack with age. It offers a more permanent choice for lettering or graphics. Using it on the galvanized wind mill tail vanes and fins has worked where vinyl and paint would not hold up in the extreme weather.

Watseka Signs is located in Watseka, IL and has been making signs since 1991. They specialize in dimensional and custom painted signs, murals and digital graphics and designs. For additional information, please visit: www.watsekasign.com.

Rooster is TSF-45 and the rest of the sign is PB Resin. Substrate is Alumalite.

Sign Artistry For An Artist!

Take a look at this awesome sign made by Vamp Graphics! According to owner Adam Mooney, this sign was CNC routed from Precision Board Plus PBLT-18 HDU. The large globs of paint on the artist’s palette were formed using TSF-45, and the sign was painted using a combination of Valspar Duramax and Modern Masters Paints.

This isn’t the first great-looking sign we have seen from Vamp Graphics. Be sure to also take a look at his in-shop sign “The Vampire’s Lair”, and its build process in our previous blog: Enter The Vampire’s Lair.

More info can be seen on Adam’s website at: http://www.vampgraphics.com.

An Irish Pot of Gold!

St. Patricks day is approaching fast and we have the perfect sign to show off some Irish spirit.

Dawn Brazee, owner of Creative DeSIGNS & Concepts is the winner of our February “Best Engineered” Facebook contest with her beautifully green sign. She made this Irish-inspired sign for Flanagan’s Pub & Grill, located in Schroon Lake, NY (the heart of the Adirondack Mountains). The sign was hand-carved from Precision Board Plus using various tools and the beautiful finish was done with 1-Shot Paints.

As the “Best Engineered” contest winner, Dawn chose TSF-45 for her prize and we’re all looking forward to see the creative way she chooses to incorporate this versatile product into a future sign!

Please visit her Facebook page for more pictures and info.
