Look mom! No Hands!

Could your car someday save you from an accident, warn you about road closures and bypass traffic? According to this recent article by The Guardian, it could. Driverless cars are coming, and fast.

California, Florida, Nevada and Michigan already allow for the testing of driverless cars on public roads. Taking advantage of these laws, tech giant Google’s driverless car project has already successfully completed 300,000 autonomous-driving miles accident-free as of August 2012.

Even loftier driverless car goals can be seen within this Wall Street Journal article, to the tune of major auto supplier Continental recently announcing a partnership with IBM to bring driverless vehicles to market with “zero accidents” as a possible result.
