Happy New Year! We do a lot of custom CNC work cutting acrylic, aluminum, PVC, HDU Foam and more – We also do CNC machining of wood parts. This project is a wooden base for a measuring instrument. Its a little tricky because there are cuts on both sides that have to be extremely accurate. Once the prototype is complete we’ll go into production cutting 50 of these then off to the paint shop for a coat of polyurethane. We cut the prototype out of Precision Board HDU to start. Then onto the solid Red Oak material.

Lobby Sign
We just completed a series of signs for our friends at Crestron Electronics. Here is one of the lobby signs. This sign was cut on our MultiCAM 3000 from 30lb 1″ thick Precision Board HDU and painted to a nice satin black finish.
Disney’s Frozen Project – Times Square Disney Store
Who wouldn’t love working on a Disney project? This was a fun project with characters, castles and great Disney graphics. We just completed our work, delivered to our client they added their magic and it looks fantastic! If you are in Times Square NYC this holiday season check it out. We started out by vectorizing the clients sketch of a giant snow arch and castle with the “Frozen” logo carved into it. In Enroute Pro we gave the outline shape and texture and designed the accurate dimensions to fit on the store fixtures. Now this arch is about 16′ Wide so we cant cut it all at once. I’ll break up the file and start cutting the pieces.
Woodwork Detail
We love to design and create things here from scratch – we also get to work with great Artists, Architects, Interior Designers and creative people who bring us their designs and challenge us to make them. Sometimes we do large jobs and sometimes we do small ones. Here is an example of a small woodworking detail that just came off our MultiCAM 3000 CNC. Mark received the file and cut this piece out of 1/4″ MDF – it will go out to the paint shop then to the client to be used as a custom element in their new interior design.
Texture and Gadgets
We’ve been busy but have still found some time to work a little every day on our Mechanical Fish project. While Brian is working the mechanics of the tank I’ve been adding fun little elements to the design and creating some cool textures and “mechanical” parts. Here is the control panel – We’ll be adding switched and a panic button soon. But it gives you an idea. Working lamp?
Time for some Football and Stadium Graphics.
We’re all pumped because it’s football season and fingers crossed that our NY teams do well. We had the privilege of doing some signage and graphics at MetLife Stadium before the season started. Check it out!
Custom Fish Tank Project – Complete
It took a while but we are done. Please take a look and pass it along if you can. We’d love to get some good exposure on this. thanks! Here is a link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ILQ-XdlZOo8&feature=share&list=UUY3edmyg6-50AXSGj9P_oUw
Completing the Structure – Mechanical Fish Project
All the welding is done. The leveling feet are on and the steel structure is now complete and painted. All I have to do is cut the acrylic tray for the top tank and we are done with stage 1! For the base of the top tank we used 2″ acrylic – overkill maybe – really cool custom acrylic fish tank tray – definitely! I designed the cut in Enroute Pro then sent it down to the Multicam to do all the work. We screwed some MDF to the table to keep this block in place. 1/2 an hour later – a perfect cut came off the table! Perfect fit! A quick leveling and we are looking good. Onto the next stage!
